This video explains why practicing yoga at home helps feeling and connecting to your body.
In the West, we tend to judge and compare ourselves with other people. Everything almost becomes a competition. Starting a yoga practice at home is great to stop judging and comparing.
Yoga’s physical exercises are not about shape. They are about tuning in and listening to body sensations, connecting with breath and concentration.
When you practice yoga, try to focus on your own physical sensations. Don’t just copy the posture, and never force anything, especially if it does not feel comfortable.
Ask yourself: can I breathe easily? How does my body feel? Am I using unnecessary tensions? Can I breathe even deeper, and feel even more comfortable?
We all have very different bodies and needs; it is so important to take care of them. Treat your body with love and kindness, it is your sacred temple. If your body says stop, don’t push. Limits can be physical, but also emotional. Listen to them, respect them, and learn to gently play with them.
