Positive thinking #3 : Perception

What do you perceive? Let’s introduce positive thinking and perception, our first filter to get information in the world!

Positive thinking - perception :

In the previous videos, we have worked with our positive thinking tool: the Wheel. The Wheel explains the power we have over our lives, how we can work on our perception, thoughts, feelings and actions to create better results.

One cannot change the circumstance, but can have an impact on all the rest and therefore change our results, and the direction we are going towards in our life.

As the French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty explains, “I am my body”1. This means that I perceive the world through my body. Information is filtered through our 5 senses, and our sense organs:

  • Eyes
  • Ears
  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Body and skin

We don’t realise that we can change the way we absorb the information, and perceive things in the world. This means we have an impact on where we choose to look, who we listen to, what we eat, how we touch.

If we take care of our perception, it then becomes easier to work with our thoughts, feelings and actions, to create results that we want in our life.

Meditation is a great tool to connect with our senses and perception.
